Jon Tombre - "Wolf Wolf"

Première 13th of October, 2005

"WOLF, WOLFS" a performance for the very small ones, those between one and three years old.

We`ll meet a kind, but stupid duck.

In the top of a three, a tiny little bird is getting bored.

While the green grass is covering a smart and greedy cat.

Suddenly the enormouse and hungry WOLF, WOLFS arrive.

"WOLF, WOLFS" is dance theatre full of surprise for the little ones. Physical and crazy comics arrive in a monty-pytonesque manner. All combined with simple and quiet poetic images. The performance is in a constant dialogue with the kids, and change according to their response.

One of the aims with the performance is to combine abstract and concrete ways of expression. In other words to compose sound, movement, action and imagery effects in to the frame of a story. Sergei Prokoffiefs "Peter and the Wolf" has been a source of inspiration and starting point for this project. The strong link between the music and the story in Prokofieffs work, is fascinating. Each character is introduced with a theme, and a the set of themes soon create a very dramatic story.

The participants in this performance are all childless men in the middle of their lifes. Ulf and Terje are dancers and Jon is a theatre-director. All of them have for several years worked in the borderland of dance, theatre and performance. Their work can be described as comical dance or choreographed theatre.

The performance is developed in the kinder-gardens at the Hospital of Ullevål during November 2004. The rehearsals have partly taken place in studio and partly in the kinder-gardens. The contact with the small ones during the rehearsal period was essential during the work. Our dialogue with both Ingunn Brønstad, leader of the aesthetic center "Moffedille" and all the kids, has been of great value.
