"Ooujeeih" - Un-Margrit Nordseth

Ooujeeih! – Un-Magritt Nordseth

A strange dance-fable starts in a nest...

a visual dance-fairytale with glittering dancers and sparkling music.

Ou! Jee! Ih!

The inspiration for Ooujeeih! is the movement of the very small children and their ability of responding to movement and sound. With this as a point of departure the performance stands out as a visual and strong sense impact.

The composer and musician Gyrid Kaldestad Nordal focuses on the human voice and uses children sounds as a basic for her composition together with live voice-improvisations.

The dancers are different characters that during the performance create their own world by help of long, colourful foam rubber tubes which are being formed as different figures. In this world of its own, the dancers relate to the material which is at the same time both solid and soft of which they can sneak into, crawl through and hide behind.

After the performance it is free for both the adult and the children to explore this unique world of its own.
